Dr. Tanushree Rachel Peters is a distinguished pediatrician and neonatologist based in Siliguri, India, with over a decade of experience in child healthcare. She completed her MBBS and postgraduate studies at Gauhati Medical College, followed by a DNB in Pediatrics. To further specialize, she underwent pediatric intensive care training in Chennai and pursued a postgraduate course in Pediatric Nutrition from Boston University, USA.
Throughout her career, Dr. Peters has held significant positions, including serving as the Secretary of the Siliguri Academy of Pediatrics from 2020 to 2022 and being a member of the Executive Committee of the West Bengal Academy of Pediatrics during the same period. She is actively involved with the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), organizing workshops to train healthcare professionals in and around Siliguri. Additionally, she offers adolescent counseling, addressing behavioral issues and academic challenges faced by young individuals.
Dr. Peters is a life member of several esteemed organizations, including the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), the National Neonatology Forum (NNF), and the Adolescent Health Academy (AHA). Her contributions to medical literature are notable, with publications in both national and international journals. Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Peters has a rich background in the arts. She completed her schooling at Carmel School in Jorhat, Assam, where she excelled in 'Sattriya Nritya', a classical dance form of Assam, and vocal classical music, earning a 'Visharad' degree in the latter. She was also awarded an All India scholarship in Sattriya Nritya for nearly a decade. Currently, Dr. Peters practices at Rainbow Children's Clinic, located on ISKCON Mandir Road in Siliguri. She is also a visiting consultant at several nursing homes in the area, including Nivedita Nursing Home and Dr. Nayak Nursing Home. Her clinic offers comprehensive pediatric services, including consultations, vaccinations, counseling, diagnostics, and emergency management, ensuring holistic care for children from newborns to adolescents
